You'd think that the French people's history of "shortening" governments (who put the will of the rich and powerful before the will of the people) would be enough to keep them in line.

Do I make myself clear? If this bill had passed, wouldn't you start to hear calls of "off with their heads!" on the streets? :-) (even if only the French geeks were crying it, to start)
